HOLOGRAPHIC MIRAGES OF THE SOUL
 By Antonio Celso Barbieri

Blame

Let's play "make believe"
I will do this
and you will do that
I will sign this and you swear that

and you will
believe what you want
because at the end of all

We could always blame each other
We could always blame each other

saying

it's our language barrier
Pointing out
our cultural differences,
or religious beliefs

We could always blame each other
We could always blame each other

And

the population
caught in the middle
Are just trying to survive
against all the odds

We could always blame each other
We could always blame each other

Let's

keep trying to prove
there is nothing
between the lines
making us believe
the cause justify the means

never mind
you believe what you want
because at the end of all

We could always blame each other
We could always blame each other

Electric Chain

mankind are swimming
swimming in the light
dancing a cosmic dance
human chain..... electric chain
together, together
they are having
an amazing insight
and meeting God
on the middle of the way

one hole
in the space-time continuum
one hole
in the space-time continuum

A pearl in the dark
one break for the tea
Alpha waves
galaxies and stars
smiling to me
I am sleeping, sleeping
Rapid Eye Movement
dreaming, dreaming
to wake up a man
a man, a man

Mirage

A mirage inside the mirror
my mind made of memories
like a mass full of myth and mystery
melting, melting...

The moon is moving
meanwhile mankind are madly
missing the magic.
many are just making "masks"
many are deliberately making only
macabre murder machines

money mainly multiplies the mess
it makes man a mean monster

At the center of the mainland
I could see the mutiny
the megacity was burning
at the middle of all that chaos
a mixture of men and machine
metal without mercy
mild microbes at midday
mercenaries at midnight

a millennium, a month, a minute
time has no meaning
when you are moving
towards meeting your mortal menace

It's all in my mind

Plastic Woman

Plastic Woman
Silicon brain floating over a headless Venus sculpture

An obscure object of desire
with an angel/devil split personality disorder
let's be clear, you will not find a "passion fruit" here
but just 2 small and hard lemon breasts

Plastic Woman
Silicon brain floating over a headless Venus sculpture

Her body always divided between north and south
Just try to kiss an impenetrable wall of teeth
or to make love with a woman without a soul
Do not be a fool

Plastic Woman
Silicon brain floating over a headless Venus sculpture

I was only kissing and leaking the glass window
Now I am here lost in the madness of art
caught on the web of the spider widow
trying to save what is left of my heart

Plastic Woman
Silicon brain floating over a headless Venus sculpture

Fantastic polished porcelain nails
that cut like a knife
I am all scratched and hurt but I am still alive!
I am feeling blue but I know I will survive!

The Hopeless Man

I am a hopeless man

The box is getting to small
and the rats can not survive there

I am a hopeless man

The box is getting to crowded
and the rats can not live there anymore

I am a hopeless man

They are fighting for scraps of food
and killing each other

I am a hopeless man

What a pity!
So many and still trying to have
the same space as before

it's a blood war

No one lives without being affected
In little doses poisoned day by day
getting mad through contact

The time is running out and
I am a hopeless man

The Ritual

Let's
Run around the Chair
Play around the Chair
Dance around the Chair

Banging our heads like mad
The chair in the middle of the room
with the people jumping around the place
pushing one another in a
hypnotic frenzy

(silence/Freeze!)

Let's
Run around the Chair
Play around the Chair
Dance around the Chair

A tribal dance
illuminated only by candles
people naked
body painted with strange symbols
primal force and raw energy

(silence/Freeze!)

Let's
Run around the Chair
Play around the Chair
Dance around the Chair

we are on the moon
we are over the mountains
sweat mixed with blood
blood mixed with dreams
dreams turning into reality

(silence/Freeze!)

Please! Do not be shy!
Seat on the chair!

Velocity

Don't look back
No going back
Velocity, velocity
Let's move forward

Rushing through
bins full of rubbish
flying over a
destroyed land

Don't look back
No going back
Velocity, velocity
Let's move forward

cutting across a
forest of electric towers
marching along
mutilated soldiers

Don't look back
No going back
Velocity, velocity
Let's move forward

Knowledge is power and
I am leaving behind
only a meagre
trail of bread crumbs
for the average minded
people.... so

Don't look back
No going back
Velocity, velocity
Let's move forward

I Haven't Be Myself

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

I saw a soldier saying no to war
I saw The Devil taking a holiday in Antarctica
I saw the First World saying I am sorry to the Third
I Saw a fox shaking hands with the dogs

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

I saw The President facing himself on the mirror
and feeling guilt
I saw religion only as guide to help us
to find the eternal truth and nothing else
I saw this planet without guns and diseases
I saw a new kind of reality
where two plus two equals five

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

I saw everybody living with good wages
under nice roofs
I saw the word "hypocrisy" out of use
I saw God coming down to Earth
and putting his creation right
I saw a pollution free form of energy

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

I saw the whole population without colour or gender
I saw myself five hundred years old
and still making love
I saw a brother from another galaxy
treating everybody with respect
I saw you baby, looking into my eyes and saying:
"- Je t'aime"

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

I discovered the answer to
"where I come from",
"why I am here" and
"where I am going to"

Sorry baby but I haven't be myself lately

Listen

Listen to me
I am not ignorant
just because I am a beggar

Yes, I am a good lover
but I also like a good reading
and all the memories
I carry with me

It's not funny
Life is not
a lottery

The ones who ask me
to put my hand over my heart
and sing the anten
Are the same who are trying to set
my destiny

Yesterday I saw an angel
It was early morning
she spook with her eyes
I got insecure and frightened

It's not funny
I am a men of the world
And I know
that my life
will be forever yours

Mud

I have nothing new to say
Nothing I would say
could change anything anyway

sadness
I can't express in words
my feelings

I would like to
clean the mud from my tongue
I would like to
Take out the glue that is sealing my lips
I would like to
be able to speak directly from my stomach

I think I know where my best part is...
no, I don't

I rather like
to play with colours, shapes
than with the meaning

I don't want to rationalize
I just want to feel
I just want to feel
I just want to feel

words... words... words...

Tattoo

Tattoo
You live deep into my skin
Burning my soul

Tattoo
A living design
Geographically exposing the landscapes of my body
Monuments to a younger self
Who does not exist anymore

Lions, snakes and a dragon
Burning my soul

Tattoo
Biological canvas
Every icon taking me to the past
memories and feelings
My mind triggered by visions

Like a rainbow
Burning my soul

Tattoo
Icons, Icons, Icons
In my arms, in my back
In my legs, in my neck
A physical reminder of a distant war
A physical reminder of my lover

Suzy, my mom and the stars
Burning my soul

Tattoo
From the prison
No pain no gain
Black, green, blue and red
From the time I was mad

A skull, some bones and the Sun
Burning my soul

Tattoo
Magic without illusion
Tribal body paint
Creating artistic body scars
Blood mixed with ink
Drying, Drying, Dying

Virgin Mary, God and Devil
Burning my soul

The Needle

The time is stopping
slowing down
I'am pretrifying
feeling down

Now, you can't hurt me
with your needle
Ho! You are so feeble

I'am shuting down
my reflexes
I'am closing down
my excess

Now, You can't hurt me
with your needle
Ho! You are so feeble

I am geting grey
I am stoping the flow
but I am not afraid
because I know

Now, You can't hurt me
with your needle
Ho! You are so feeble

Thief

You took my heart
and sent it to Mars

Now I am in this war
fighting the battle
of the empty souls

Before I was kissing Venus,
making love with the Moon

Now I am living on the land
of the eternal rain

You broke inside my heart
and took out my soul

You invaded my temple
and drank my spirit

I openned my book
and gave away my most intimate secrets
I let you to look deep inside my eyes
I said yes to the vampire
I said yes to the Thief

You took my heart
and sent it to Mars

Walking and Thinking

Walking and Thinking

I am walking

and I am thinking

I am walking and thinking

I am walking and thinking about you

Thinking about you and me

Thinking about you and me
and how everything looks so meaning less

How life should be really
about real friends
How life should be really
about real friends
and real love

Inconditional friends
and inconditional love

I am losing the faith
I am losing the faith
I am losing the faith

Walking in Circles

I am walking in circles
Trapped by the language
Trying to recycle
all this rubbish

This is not new and
this is not old
This is not the future and
this is not the past.... either

This is just history
people are
just making history

The only thing
I know for sure is
I don't know anything...
meaning

Relativity
Today I am
Tomorrow I don't know

Longevity
Today I am
Tomorrow I don't know

Fidelity
Today I am
Tomorrow I don't know

Morality
Today I am
Tomorrow I don't know

anyway, I don't care
because it's in the air

Rest in peace

because it's in the air
